Biographical information

Franz Dinnendahl studied from 1929 to 1932 at the Cologne "Werkschulen" under Johan Thorn Prikker and presumably also under Dominikus Böhm. It was there that he met his future wife Trude Benning (RAK 145). Dinnendahl was drafted in 1942 and died in a Russian prisoner of war camp in November 1944.

Summary

The collection includes biographical data compiled by the family, including documents on the contradictory date of the artist's death in Russian captivity. It also contains photographs of his work as well as several letters and a treatise on the history of Ringenberg, including an exchange of letters between parish rector Lösing and Dominikus Böhm.
