Biographical information

As of 1920, the painter Richard Schreiber studied art history in Bonn. Artist Valentin Talaga (RAK 002) introduced him into the art scene of Bonn. For a while, the two shared a flat in Berlin and went on extensive travels together. Schreiber stayed in Paris for some time for study purposes and had a studio in Meudon until 1933, together with Talaga, with whom he continued to exhibit. Schreiber was part of the exhibitions of the artist association The Young Rhineland. During World War II, Schreiber was a war painter for the Navy. In 1947/48, he worked in the painting class of the director of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Werner Heuser.
