Biographical information
Willy Maria Stucke studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the Landeskunstschule Hamburg. Stucke travelled extensively, which he documented photographically. The impressions he gained were an inspiration for his art.
During the Second World War, Stucke worked as a war painter in Finland, but was taken prisoner of war in France in 1945. After the war, he was chairman of the
"Künstlergruppe Bonn" and was involved in the founding of the "Kunstverein Bonn" in 1963.

Summary
The Stucke collection consists largely of travel photographs, mainly to Bali. There are also private photographs, photographic documentation of his work as well as prints, sketches and drawings. Correspondence from the donor and newspaper cuttings about Stucke's exhibitions round off the collection.
